ISIL's new tactics

Many believe the killing of a Jordanian pilot aims to frighten those fighting the armed group.

 

A wave of condemnation has followed the murder of the Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh by ISIL fighters.
Jordan's government is under mounting and unprecedented pressure to retaliate.
The change in ISIL's tactics in dealing with prisoners is seen by many as a message to those fighting the armed group.
But will these tactics work? And could they weaken or reinforce the resolve to deal with ISIL?
